I’m here to tell you that 40 is the new 40!!
You may be wondering what I mean, so let me explain.
Turning 40 was the best thing that ever happened to me. There was a shift in my perspective on life that allowed me to feel fully empowered, secure, and in control.
Getting to this point wasn’t easy, but it was definitely worth it.
In a society that can make getting older seem like a bad thing for women to dread, I want women to celebrate their current age and live their best, most glamorous life.
As I step into 40, I can proudly say I am fully established in my career, in my personal life, and in my mindset. The journey here was not easy. There were hard lessons, disappointments, and obstacles that had to be crossed to get here.
Suppressing negative thoughts and self-doubt consumed so much of my energy that I now channel into more productive and positive things like helping others. I am in a position to give back to my community and help women who just like me have let FEAR get in the way of their dreams.
For that reason, Empowered Fem, was created. To help women at all stages in life to realize their worth and the mighty power that is inside of them. I want you to know that you are the most powerful person in that meeting. That you deserve that diamond. That you can get the matching wallet to the Louis Vitton if you want to. That you are in control of your destiny.
I’ve helped organize an outreach program meant to help young women at Martin Middle School have access to amazing role models in this community. The program has truly been successful and the impact to the young girls unmeasurable.
Before I turned 40, I would worry constantly about not being good enough or what other people thought of me. Looking back, it’s crazy how we let our minds fill us with negative thoughts and become our own worst enemy. It’s even more crazy to see all that we can do and become when we shift our mindset.
What if we treated ourselves like we would our very best friend?
That’s why today, I celebrate me. The me that is courageous, beautiful, and powerful. The me that says, “Oh my glam!” and can rock a hard hat on the job or a chic romper out on the town. The fabulous 40 year old me!
At this powerful moment in my life, I am able to confidently stand tall and let myself be seen and heard. Worrying about others’ perspective of me is not something I waste any time on, and neither should you.
Fear is something I deal with and move out of mind and path. I don’t worry about finances. I don’t worry about negativity. I now worry less and live more.
I’m unstoppable and ready to make positive changes in this community.
